Whom is it for?

Men and women over 18 residing in France.

High School diploma (baccalaureate type) recommended.

What is it for?

To be able to efficiently communicate in speaking and writing for everyday and professional situations.

The program is based on the general framework 2021 (PDF - 624 Ko).



What are the ADVANTAGES?

With the exception of PhD students (“Student status”), enrolling in CILEC French classes allows you to obtain the status of “Continuing Professional Education Intern”. This status is compatible with a request for the training costs to be funded by the employer or France Travail for salaried employees and job seekers.

And what’s more, our center gives you access, free of charge, to:

  • an activities office regularly organising outings, cultural visits and lots of other fun things to do


When and how much?

Module of 50 class hours (2½ hours per week) from 6th January to 9th June 2026

Classes are held on Tuesday evenings from 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Classes are organised by language level groups: 19 students maximum.

An oral placement test will be organised the 6th January, at 6 p.m. at the CILEC to place you in the appropriate level group.

Fees

€470 for individual applicants.
€820 if paid by a third party (France Travail, employer).
Free of charge for 1st, 2nd and 3rd year PhD students of UJM, ENISE or EMSE.

For any new academic year, rates may be subject to increase.

How to enroll?

You're funding your training on an individual basis

You're requesting funding from your employer or France Travail

An online placement test will be sent to you and an oral interview will be set up.

A quote or agreement will then be sent to your employer or France Travail.

You are a 1st, 2nd and 3rd year PhD student at Jean Monnet University, ENISE or MINES SAINT-ETIENNE

You should register on the ADUM software: deadline: 11th December 2025.
