Saint-Etienne’s culture scene

Saint-Etienne has culture aplenty: movie theaters, a national dramatic arts center and over eight other theaters, an opera house, a Zénith concert hall, café-concert spaces, a modern music scene, numerous museums (Modern Art, Art and Industry, etc.), the Cité du Design that hosts the international design biennial, the Le Corbusier site (ranked UNESCO world heritage), and festivals celebrating music, theater, dance, circus arts...

Not only that, but for anyone 16 to 25 studying or living in Saint-Etienne, the city offers them free or reduced-price tickets to sports/cultural events, transportation; plus they open up last-minute offers for free or low-price entry to multifold events (concerts, sports matches, theater, opera, cinema, etc.) via the special saintepass

Every year when school starts in September and January, the city of Saint-Etienne and the Jean Monnet University put on cultural and athletic events to promote student integration and allow its newest inhabitants to explore the town freely (SASE and SWD).
